Bare Minerals The Finer Things 8.0 Palette ($40)
Bare Minerals Ready shadows are just about perfect. I like pigmentation and blendable shadows and I haven’t been disappointed yet. To be even more clear I haven’t come across a crappy color yet. There I said it. I’ve posted on a few BE quads/4.0′s and now a new obsession is born. I even got last year’s 8.0 palettes (check the bareescentuals.com they are both discounted to $29.50 right now!!) The Playlist and The Cocktail Hour. These eight shadow palettes are really well put together and the colors are on point.
In The Finer Things there is a great mix of easy to wear colors that can be mixed and worn alone to really show off your eyes. The best thing about BE shadows to me is that I always look like I did a lot of work when I use a few colors but it still looks incredibly natural and dare I say it sexy….
Here are some quick swatches! Click on a pic to make it bigger…
Penthouse, Custom Made, Chateau, and Truffle
First Class, Upgrade, Five Star, and Private Isle
Do you like thinner swatches or thicker ones? I can’t decide. I did both here which makes no sense but regardless these colors are so pretty. At $40 this palette is worth a look at the counter. Don’t ya think? Nice variety of colors.
My favorite color in the palette is Private Isle…best blue ever LOOK at it on the end. I also must say the white matte shade called Five Star looks really good. It blends well and has a nice sheen to it. All of the pictures that I took are without primer so these colors are pigmented and a little bit goes a long way.
I love these colors and the palette is great for neutral lovers but there are deeper colors like Penthouse and Private Isle to keep things interesting. I used them both as liners which was nice. You also get a cute little Prime Time eyelid primer sample (it’s .05 oz’s) with The Finer Things palette. I like it so far. It’s my first time trying it. I’m so crazy about the colored Prime Time shades but the regular primer leaves no color behind on my lid (pet peeve of mine) and the shadow colors “stick” to it well. These colors are so pretty that you want them to stay put. Unless there is a serious storm I don’t want my eye look to move. I’m just picky like that!
This palette is available at Nordstrom, Ulta, and the Bare Escentuals website.
