Cetaphil Oil Control Moisturizer or Olay Complete Combination/Oily Moisturizer?

Cetaphil Oil Control ($18.79/4 oz.) and Olay Complete Combo/Oily Skin ($11.49/6 oz.)

I am looking for a new moisturizer for my combination skin. I used up my Bare Minerals Purely Nourishing Moisturizer (Combination Skin) so I thought I’d see what else is out there. I put up a picture of the new moisturizer bottles I picked up over the weekend on Instagram (I’m crystalis007 on IG) to try.

Have you tried either? I had two coupons thank goodness for this purchase. One for 30% off and another for $6 to cut down on the price at CVS. I put the sticker prices for the moisturizers before discounts under the picture above. Expensive huh?

Let me know if you have any experience with either! I’d love to know your thoughts!

I have used the Olay for eons. It’s been my go to for years! I use it in the spring/summer and sometimes in the other seasons. Sometimes its not moisturizing enough in the winter/fall so I supplement it with shea butter or argan oil or a mix of both plus some rosewater – I’m a kitchen scientist :)
Sometimes in the summer its too light and slips off….so its been replaced by the Josie Maran sunscreen but that’s not moisturizing enough either, so I’ve been testing the Purpose moisturizer. So far, so good.

I have the Cetaphil one. I recieved it for free from a sales rep (my mom works in a pharmacy and mentioned that I use a lot of cetaphil products so he gave me this to try for free and review)

I will finish what I have because for free it is great but I probably won’t repurchase. I don’t think it is worth 25 dollars which is what it costs where I live (Canada)

I don’t see a major difference in oil but it doesn’t create extra oilyness which is nice. It just okay for me but I can’t wait to hear what you think of it :)

So far I don’t notice a difference in the oil factory production:) But like you said it doesn’t look too oily. Some moisturizers aggravate things and thank goodness this is not one of them so far!

I have the Olay one and there’s these very fine pieces of what feels like grains of sand in it. It irritates my skin. Could have just gotten a bad batch but I’d probably try the Cetaphil if it was me.

I have used Cetaphil for oily skin in the past but wanted something to help mattify my skin better. I now use Citrus Clear’s Control Moisturizer – its thicker than what I had in mind for a facial lotion, but I don’t care because the product delivers what I need. It absorbs quickly and is a good primer before I apply my concealer and foundation. I stay shine free all day
