Dolce & Gabbana- Luminous Liquid Foundation Swatches

I’ve gotten so many questions lately about the latest foundation from D&G! I put up swatches for the deeper shades of Dolce’s Perfect Finish Creamy Foundation when it came out so I thought I’d put up a post with swatches for the Luminous Liquid. I liked the Creamy Foundation (reviewed here) but was a little unhappy with the container. I’ll put up a review of Luminous Liquid in the future. I love that it’s just coming out because my skin turns more normal (t-zone) to dry (cheeks & chin) in the Fall/Winter. Something like this would be a fail in the Spring/Summer for me most likely. It’s retailing for $59 for a 1 oz. bottle and there are twelve shades available on the Saks website but I think there are more. Until my review here is a brief description from the Saks website on the foundation:

For the woman who desires to enhance her natural beauty with a complexion that gleams with lustrous radiance. Dolce & Gabbana presents a sophisticated, modern fluid format for foundation that is silken and sensuous. Dressing the skin with radiant, golden light, the complexion appears perfected with a flawless, dewy finish and impalpable coverage. Each shade offers skin an amazing natural looking coverage with skin conditioning and hydrating benefits.

I can’t wait to compare this to my latest love YSL’s Le Teint Touche Eclat. I wonder which will make me glow more:)

Here are those swatches! Remember to click on a picture to make it bigger.

Dolce & Gabbana- Italian Monica Lipstick #160

It’s time for the last Monica. I picked up five of the six lipsticks in this collection from D&G and I’m going to show you the last one and thats kind of sad. Italian Monica is a chili pepper red. Truth be told I prefer blue based reds but as I’ve mentioned in the other posts for these lipsticks, the texture and comfort makes each one of these shades a stand out and I’m so glad I have them.

Italian Monica #160-$32

The Monica collection is available at some Saks stores and on their website. This is a limited edition collection so check them out sooner rather than later.
If you missed my other posts check them out by clicking on the Monica you’d like to see below. My favorite is Chic Monica!
Magnetic Monica: a sophisticated glossy plum
Only Monica: a candy pink sugared-almond shade
Chic Monica: a bright pink
Attractive Monica: a rich cardinal red

Dolce & Gabbana-Magnetic Monica Lipstick #120

Another day another beautiful Monica! This is lipstick number four of the five colors that I got from D&G’s Monica collection and it’s a beautiful plummy shade called Magnetic Monica.

I took the last two side view shots because I wanted you to see the finish. It is EVERYTHING. So smooth and gorgeous. Love it. I have one more shade from the collection to show you and its a red. It’s called Italian Monica. Make sure you check out the other posts on Attractive Monica, Chic Monica, and Only Monica. D&G makeup is at Saks stores and the Saks online site.

One more thing about this shade. If you like this color you might have a few other favorites in your stash that you might want to compare to this. I instantly thought of Mac’s Rebel and Tom Ford’s Violet Fatale. Here are some quick hand swatches.

D&G Magnetic Monica, Mac Rebel, and Tom Ford Violet Fatale (left to right)

I think the biggest difference between these is how much more moisturizing the D&G shade is. Mac and Tom Ford are comfortable to wear but they don’t feel as great on as D&G. Other than that I think they are all beautiful colors and look amazing on. You can’t go wrong with these three. I think it just depends on how much plum you like on your lips. Rebel is clearly on the deeper plum side.

Jinx has always got one eye open….

Dolce & Gabbana- Only Monica Lipstick #80

The third lipstick I tried out of the five I purchased from the D&G Monica collection was the runt. The one I wasn’t sure I’d like and the one that surprised me the most by how well it goes with my skin tone. It’s Only Monica.

When I opened it up it sort of looked like a light coral-like pink shade. I still wasn’t sold. It looked like it might be chalky. I slapped it on and then looked in the mirror and bam. NOT BAD. See how dark it looks in the tube in the picture (upper right) above? In lower light this color looks darker in the tube and….on my lips. It’s strange but I love it.

Only Monica #80, $32 at Saks (online also!)

This is the perfect every day shade. You don’t need a mirror to apply it and I feel like I look quite innocent if I say so myself. Ha! I think colors like this should be a staple in everyones makeup bag. This shade goes with everything. Like the other lip colors from this collection it even wears off pretty. I can go a good four plus hours depending on what I’m eating and drinking. Messy meals like pasta and burgers require a total re-haul. But thats ok. This is limited edition and exclusive to Saks.

Please check out my Attractive Monica and Chic Monica lipstick posts from this collection. Only two more shades to go and I’ll have shown them all to you!

Dolce & Gabbana- Chic Monica Lipstick #100

Let me introduce you to the ONE. Out of the five colors I got from the D&G Monica lipstick collection there was one color that I was really excited about, Chic Monica. It’s pink and its in my zone. You know the place I live…bright pink land!

Are you looking at this and seeing what I am seeing? It’s FIRE! At $32 it better be right? Hope you like this color too. This is the second of a five part D&G Monica collection love fest. Check out the first post in the series it’s a beautiful red called Attractive Monica. This is at Saks stores with D&G counters and their online website. It’s limited edition. Get it before it’s gone!

Dolce & Gabbana- Attractive Monica Lipstick #140

I love Dolce & Gabbana makeup. Their lipsticks are favorites in my stash. The Monica Collection came out a few months ago and I purchased five out of the six colors. At $32 each D&G lipsticks are a luxury but one I’ve come to cave in to because they feel unbelievable on the lips. The first one I tried was Attractive Monica. I must say…Crystal felt quite attractive wearing this shade too!

Is it just me or is that really PRETTY. I love this and I can’t wait to show you the four others! These are amazingly comfortable and last a good four plus hours. I think this is one of the lowest maintenance reds that I have. It even wears off in a pretty way!

This collection is at saks.com and Sak’s stores w/D&G counters of course. They are limited edition. If you would like to talk to the best rep EVER for D&G that helps me with all my purchases talk to Nikki in Houston at (713)627-0500 ext. 5101. I just called her to talk about the new D&G Luminous Liquid Foundation and the new Passion Duo Lipstick shades. So there will be quite a bit of D&G coming your way in the coming weeks!

NOTD: Dolce & Gabbana Lover #130

I was in the mood for red today. So I pulled out one of my favorites D&G’s Lover #130. I get my D&G makeup and polish from Saks. It’s an addiction. I have so many other colors that I haven’t shown you yet that I’ve been hoarding. Anyway take a look at Lover!

Not all Saks stores carry D&G but it is on the Saks website. There are some great colors and they are $20 per bottle. I love the wear time on these also. After a base coat, two coats of color, and a top coat I can easily go a week with D&G shades. I’m not too hard on my hands/manicure but I find that just a bit of wear on the nail tips is all that goes on in a week. Not bad!

Dolce & Gabbana Passion Duo Lipstick- Poetic #60

This shade completes me. I love it. It’s my perfect pink. I’ve reviewed a few different D&G Passion Duo Lipsticks for you. I like them since they have a glossy center (adds moisture!) and the colors are all so good! At $34 each they are pricy at Saks.com but I love the few that I have. The lip glossy center with lipstick on the the outside is genius!
