L’oreal Primped & Precious Infallible Eye Shadow
Last week I did a comparison post on Blinged & Brilliant the gold-ish new shade for the holidays from L’oreal. But a few people asked me if Primped & Precious (the silver shade) looks similar to Liquid Diamond another Infallible that came out a few months ago. I’m glad to say it doesn’t but here is some side by side proof!
First Primped & Precious is a true silver I’d say. Love it!
And here are the swatches of Primped & Precious (left) and Liquid Diamond. Liquid Diamond leans on the purple side to my eye.
These are both beautiful it just depends in my opinion what you’d get the most use out of. I am going to wear Primped & Precious out on special occasions thats for sure. I love silvery eyes and a red lip with lots of black liquid liner. That says it’s the holidays to me like nothing else! I picked up Primped & Precious at my local Bed Bath & Beyond (Harmons beauty section) in a display. Watch out for it if you love silver!
L’oreal Infallible Eyeshadow Blinged & Brilliant w/Comparisons
There are two new Limited Edition Infallible’s out now. I showed and swatched them in a recent YouTube video. I got quite a few messages about one of the colors Blinged & Brilliant (the gold shade) and asked to compare it to the other gold-ish Infallibles that I’ve got.
First let me show you Blinged & Brilliant!
It’s pretty. I think I have a weakness for gold. I picked this up for a little over $7 in a new display at Bed Bath & Beyond. I’m not sure if I have all the gold-ish Infallibles but I do try to collect all the colors I see like a crazy woman. Here are those comparisons in case your wondering if Blinged & Brilliant is close to a shade you have already picked up.
Blinged & Brilliant, Amber Rush, Gold Imperial, and Bronzed Taupe (left to right)
Blinged & Brilliant is different than the other already released Infallibles so thats good. I think the other shades lean more toward the rose gold and yellow gold family. Blinged & Brillant looks more yellow toned in the container than it does on the eye and thats a good thing in my opinion. I like using it as an inner eye highlight since it appears to be colorless. This Infallible goes with my Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette really well. All the cool colors are a perfect fit.
I threw Bronzed Taupe in the mix not so much because it looks gold in any way but to show you the “golds” alongside a more wearable color. There is no doubt Bronzed Taupe is my favorite! I find the hardest color to wear out of these four is Gold Imperial. It’s so YELLA. Ha!
NOTD: L’oreal Silver Sparkle
When my nails are a mess I go glittery.
I hate it when my nails seem to all break off at the same time. Or even better two or three nails from each hand! This happens every few months and I have to start over. I clip everything down and plaster the nubs with glitter. It’s become my standard response to jazzing up a stubbie manicure. I glitter-fy what ever is left beyond reason.
But I always grab a fun glitter to drown my nails in. Today’s pick is Silver Sparkle by L’oreal.
I used a base coat, two coats of Silver Sparkle, and a top coat. I could have done a third coat of glitter to make the finish more opaque but I’m happy with the way it looks. I hope my nubs grow QUICK. I picked this up from Bed Bath & Beyond (Harmon’s beauty section) for around $5.
What do you do when your nails are a mess?
L’oreal Paris Voluminous Power Volume 24H Mascara-Blackest Black
I’d say that this is a middle of the road mascara for me. I don’t hate it but I’m not a die hard fan either. Voluminous mascaras always work for me. This one has a great formula but in my opinion the downfall is the super big (sorta floppy/wimpy) brush. I need stiffer bristles to get my lashes to move into place.
Most days when I use this mascara I need to manipulate my lashes after using the wand so they don’t cross over each other. Since I am a slap it on and go girl this frustrates me a little.
Don’t get me wrong I think this is a great drugstore mascara. But if your looking for something that does all the work for you this might not be it. I think what makes Almay’s Get Up & Grow work even though the brush is almost as large is that the wand bristles are stiffer/shorter and they make my difficult lashes obey! The Almay wand separates and coats my lashes better.
Check out the before and after. I think you get great length with this and with several coats I get the kind of volume I like.
before/after-two coats
For around $8 I think this mascara is going to be a good pick for a lot of people. It comes in a waterproof formula also and there are three shades available. Besides Blackest Black which I purchased, you can also get this in Black and Black Brown. I think this is a great fit for people that have easy to tame lashes. I think I’m a tough case, my lashes have a mind of their own:)
Have you checked this mascara out yet? Let us all know if you love it or hate it and why!
L’oreal Colour Riche Caresse- Velvety Fuchsia #173
So how about a simple to the point review on this?
This is basically L’oreal’s second attempt at creating a Revlon Lip Butter. I think that the Balm’s that L’oreal came out with months ago were nice enough but most of the reviews for them talk about the lack of pigmentation. The ones I own barely have any color to them which is fine but when something else comes out at the drugstore that is drenched with color, the colorless balm can’t help but fall way behind. L’oreal hasn’t perfected the smoothness of the color infusion though. Revlon Lip Butters are much smoother color wise. It’s a slight difference though. Nothing major but I easily mistake Lip Butters for Lipstick because the color and texture is so seemless. These L’oreal Caresse Sticks still feel like a balm to me.
But L’oreal has finally made a Lip Butter they can slap their name on here. I love it. I have no loyalty though so I’ll just show you the pictures I took and tell you to look out for these.
I really like both of the shades that I got. If this is a color that you love you may be wondering if its similar to Revlon’s Lollipop Lip Butter. I was wondering the SAME thing. Here’s a look at both swatched.
L’oreal Velvety Fuchsia (left) and Revlon Lollipop Lip Butter (right)
They aren’t the same but they are quite similar. I am so glad that I picked this up. It’s going in my purse. The other shade that I got is red and I’ll try to post pictures on that and comparison’s with the red Revlon Lip Butter’s that I have if you like.
This retails for under $10 so take a look at the shades available and see if there is something you can get some use out of. I picked up my two shades at Target.
Rated B+

New L’oreal Infallible Shades- Gleaming Bronze, Pink Sapphire, and Gold Imperial (Swatched!)
This is huge. New L’oreal Infallible shadows are out there guys! I love these shadows because besides being relatively inexpensive they are GOOD. I have several from the initial release and added three new ones from L’oreal’s Summer Collection. I’m not sure if these are permanent but I really hope they are. I got these three at Bed, Bath & Beyond but also spotted these in a display at CVS.
On to the swatches! Please click on any of the pictures if you’d like to see them a LOT bigger! I already dug into these for a YouTube video I posted yesterday so you’ll see that the shadow surfaces on the right don’t look brand new.

I don’t have all of the lighter Infallible shades but I did swatch the other goldish shades that I do have for comparisons for those wondering what these look like with what you may already have. So here Gleaming Bronze and Gold Imperial are swatched with Amber Rush and Bronzed Taupe.
