Covergirl Queen Desert Bronze Quad and Natural Hue Concealer

I got really excited when I went into a large Target on a recent road trip. They had a huge makeup section and more Covergirl Queen Collection products than I’ve seen in the stores in my area. I picked up the Desert Bronze Quad and the Natural Hue Concealer in the shade Golden.

I really like this quad. I think the shadows are so pretty and used all together are amazing. It’s rare to find a quad where I like all the colors. This is the best drugstore quad I’ve come across in a while color wise. All the shades work in harmony. Now when it comes to wear these do well with primer but there is a little more fallout than I like in the shadow shades. These colors are beautiful and bronzy not chalky but I found doing my eyes before the rest of my face was a must. I didn’t see any other quads that I wanted but I really hope to see more of these sets from Covergirl Queen soon. At around $7 these are great for the money!

I had very high hopes for Covergirl Queens Natural Hue Concealer. I picked up the shade Golden at Target for under $10 with my fingers crossed that it was something like my new favorite Estee Lauder Double Wear Concealer. Wouldn’t it be great if I found an alternative to paying over $20 for concealer? These two products look similar and have similar packaging. But thats all they have in common.

Natural Hue is a much better fit for someone with very light concealing needs. I happen to have pits of darkness under my eyes. I can usually go with one coat of Estee Lauder concealer but with this I need a few layers to see a difference. The texture of Natural Hue is a lot thinner. It’s a very light formula and serious darkness/redness/veining are no match for it. I will say it doesn’t crease under the eyes which is fantastic but I wouldn’t repurchase. If you have less serious concealing needs it might be worth a try. But if you are trying to erase blemishes, under eye circles, or scaring skip it. Take a look at a quick swatch of the concealer below.

That quad is beautiful, and much prettier than the ones they released for the regular collection… I’m going to have to do some digging and see if I can find the new releases for the Queen collection in my area.

Those are a lot nicer compared to the last time I purchased covergirl eye shadow. I actually returned them because they were chalky, had zero color payoff and were just a complete disappointment. But those are really pretty colors and they’re pretty decent for the amount that is being spent.
