I got a little giddy when I saw this new holiday Chanel shade for the first time. It’s just the perfect vampy shimmer. I think this is among my favorites right along with Graphite and Paradoxal. I haven’t posted pics of Vendetta and Black Pearl but those are favorites also. Some Chanel polishes are just so amazing and this is one of them.
Pirate is the last of the three Rouge Allure Luminous shades that I got recently. I showed you Exaltee #93 & Palpitante #102 in a recent post but I saved this beautiful red for last. I love blue based reds. They really pop against my skin and look amazing if I do say so myself!
I am going to stop at three shades even though I know if I go back and look I will fall in love with more shades. I am in love with the lipstick formula. The color payoff is fantastic and you know how much I hate dry lipstick by now right? Well this is not drying at all and even wears off well. The color lasts a good number of hours and I have to say I like this a little more than my favorite red Gabrielle from Chanel. Pirate is a much deeper red. My favorite red mattes La Fascinante #38 and YSL’s Rouge Rock #203 have some serious competition this Fall. I thought I was going to be all about matte shades but maybe not!
With almost twenty shades available there is something for everyone. Check these out at the counter. I picked mine up at Nordstrom so get to your favorite counter and swatch these and see if there is one that works for you.
Chanel has released some new Rouge Allure lipsticks and I can’t tell you how excited I was to check them out. There are almost 20 colors and I picked up three. I’ll show you two today Exaltee (fuchsia pink), Palpitante (raspberry red), and save Pirate (blue red) for another day. These retail for $34 each so I recommend swatching them at the counter if you can. I did. I thought I knew which colors I wanted but only ended up with one color I picked from looking on chanel.com for these.
First up Exaltee.
I love Exaltee. It’s a bright pink and smooth as silk. I don’t know but I swear these Rouge Allure’s are smoother. They put a little Revlon Lip Butter formula in these! They don’t melt on/away like Lip Butters but they sure do slide on and feel good. I get average wear-about 5 hours but this is such an improvement on an already good formula in my opinion. They didn’t take out the powdery smell but who cares if we get great colors and a smooth texture like this!
Next is #102 Palpitante. If you like shades that aren’t too red, this might be the one for you.
I love Palpitante. It’s a great in-between pink/red that looks so bright and youthful. Sassy even:) I took that last picture (an extreme close up) so you can see the beautiful finish both of these shades have. I sometimes use gloss over my lipsticks but this is just the finish I like and prefer to wear without gloss.
I can’t recommend these enough. Check them out at the counter because there are soo many colors. I’ll show you Pirate soon!
I got an email from Chanel today about the pre-order for the new Twin Sets for Fashions Night Out this year. I think I like two of the sets…how about you? Will you be caving in and getting any of these? I love Rouge Allure Velvet Lipsticks. They feel amazing on the lips. Best matte lipsticks ever. My first one is an amazing red called La Fascinante. It gets used regularly. Let me know if you are tempted to pick any of these up! You can pre-order on chanel.com and these say limited edition so make your decisions before they are gone!
Le Vernis -Infidele, Provocation, and Delicatesse ($26 each)
Two things I need to tell you right off the bat here. One-every blog I read can’t be wrong. Two-I’m already thinking about getting a backup.
I’ve seen this gloss on everyone. Every skin tone there is. And it looks so GOOD on everyone. From Perilously Pale to Messy Wands. But the post that tipped me over the edge was seeing it in a beautiful post from Micheleista. Seeing it on someone with a skin tone like mine was the nail in the coffin. That post of hers made me want Troublant in the worst way.
Take a look!
Besides looking great this gloss feels good also. Not too sticky and smooth as butter. Take a look at this shade at Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, or Chanel’s website. It’s $32 but worth it. MUST GET BACKUP!
Let me know if you’ve picked this up! It’s from Chanel’s Fall 2012 collection by the way so don’t sleep on it.
