When I got all the stuff I picked up from Estee Lauder’s Violet Underground Collection recently the gloss I wanted was sold out everywhere. It just came in recently and it was worth the wait.
Check out Rebellious Violet!
This is only my second Pure Color gloss but I love it. The color is smooth and comfortable to wear and the shimmer in this color is so pretty. If you haven’t seen Violet Crush Lipstick or the Violet Underground Palette please take a look at my previous posts for them. I think Estee Lauder has my favorite Fall Collection by far. Oh and Tempestuous the nail color from EL that I’ve been wearing with all of it, check that out too. Consider it all before its gone!
I’m in love with matte lipstick overall and I have several red shades but now I have the perfect PINK matte!
Like it? Well it looks even better on!
I love it. And it’s not one of those dry moisture sucking crappy mattes either. I hate matte lipstick that feels dry. This feels balm like texture wise and lasts three to four hours no problem. I need minor touch ups after drinks and meals.
There is also a deeper shade called Black Cassis in the Violet Underground Fall 2012 Collection. I might check that shade out next! Get to your favorite Estee Lauder counter to take a look soon, these might not be around for long. I know the Violet Underground Palette is in high demand also.
Have you seen this at the store? Are you tempted? I caved in thirty seconds flat at the Nordstrom counter!
I did a double take when I saw this palette. Estee Lauder has won me over with their whole Fall 2012 Collection Violet Underground. As a huge fan of pigmented shadows and products overall I can’t get over the pretty shades in this palette. It’s totally surprising and unlike what every one else is doing but very wearable.
I posted the following picture on Instagram last week and like me so many others were excited about checking this out in person.
Here are some quick swatches!
If you are interested in this check it out sooner rather than later at the department store (Neiman’s or Nordstrom have it) I think it’s limited edition and EL products like this palette and the highlighters go FAST. Get on it!
Estee Lauder Tempestuous-$20 (.3 oz’s)
I freakin love this color. I saw it at the Estee Lauder counter and couldn’t grab it fast enough. I used a base coat, two coats of color, and a top coat for this manicure. It’s perfection and now I’m just going to show you several pictures of it cause it’s so beautiful! I can’t say enough about it so I’ll shut up and let you scroll down…
Please check this beautiful color out at Nordstrom or Neiman’s! It’s a standout!
Poppy Passion and Intriguing Plum Blush
Estee Lauder is on a serious roll with me. Be it highlighters, eye shadows, foundation, or blush they can do no wrong. These huge blushes (.24 oz’s each) are kind of amazing. I purchased them a while ago from the Estee Lauder website and I’m finally coming back to tell you what I think. They are fantastic!
It’s been a few months and I’ve been using them a few times a week. I took the pictures above way back when I got them and they of course look different now because I’m going nuts on em! I love Poppy Passion best because it’s just the right happy shade of almost coral-like pink. Odd huh? I swear when I swatch this it looks coral but in the pan it looks pink to me. Strange but good!
Intriguing Plum is deeper and reminds me of Mac Raizin blush with purple in it. It’s not a scary overpowering purple blush its just right. I’m so happy with how wearable it is. At $28 each I’m glad these blushes are wearable, pigmented, and come in so many colors. There are 16 on the Estee Lauder site so check out which one you may want to invest in at the counter and swatch away like I did. It’s fun! I think I’m just going to stick with these shades since I have quite a bit of blush in my stash.

These shades last all day on my cheeks and did I mention how big they are? I’ll be using these forever! Check them out, I think you’ll find one you MUST have!
I really like this concealer from Estee Lauder. I don’t know why it took me so long to try it out but I am beyond happy with its performance and coverage.
I’m hard on concealer but I think most people are. The worst traits that a concealer can have are creasing and fading to me but it’s amazing how many concealers out there do both on me. Right now I have a few favorite concealers but I’m always on the hunt for another. I think the only thing harder to find than a good concealer is a good eye primer. But sometimes the stars are all lined up just right and you get lucky!
The best thing about this concealer is the wand! I love the doe foot applicator and how easy it is to slap on just the right amount of concealer under my big old under eye suitcases. I usually have to put concealer on my hand and then dip my concealer brush into it for application. And with Mac Studio Finish I have to dig out concealer with my finger. Both ways are not too messy but do annoy me a little when I’m in a hurry. This wand makes things easy. I dab a few dots of concealer under my eye and smooth it in with my finger or blot at it with a damp beauty sponge. Its so quick and easy.
The color match is a good one for me. This concealer doesn’t crease or fade on me and lasts all day long. It’s good at covering blemishes too. I have a bad zit on my chin and I’ve been using this over it every day. It hasn’t made the situation worse for me (no breakouts in the area) so I think its important to note that your skin while recovering won’t get worse. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve tried to cover something and instead started a zit farm! My only issue is with the amount you get. I don’t feel like this tube is gonna last long. That’s the only thing that doesn’t work for me and the only thing that keeps this from being a home run.
Check this out at the Estee Lauder counter or online. It’s $22 a tube and there are 10 shades available-everything from Extra Light to Extra Deep.
I’m really in love with this foundation. I got a sample a few weeks ago and loved it. I went back and got a full size bottle after using the sample for three days. I was a little wary of the claims on this formulation because the information on it explains that it controls oil. I was thinking “yeah right” but I’m here to tell you I think it does…
I have combination skin which in my case means a dry chin and cheeks with an oily t-zone. I usually need to touch up an oil breakthrough around the 4 hour mark with most liquid foundations. I can go a good 6-7 hours without touching this foundation up. It’s a thin kind of watery formula and if you don’t mind shaking it up like a can of spray paint you might want to try it. I’m serious. You have to shake the living daylights out of it. One of the SA’s at Nordstrom told me that you have to shake it until you don’t hear the beads inside anymore. Because that means its mixed but truth be told I give it a good shake back and forth ten times and it’s all set.
I’m using shade 6WN1. There are warm and cool shades available and a wide range which is good. I would say this is a buildable but by no means a full coverage foundation. One of the things that I like is that it looks so natural, it looks like your skin but better not a mask. I hate a mask like foundation. I want to look better and somewhat flawless not like I’m wearing another persons face. At $35 for 1 oz. it is pricey. I recommend getting a sample like I did and trying this out first. I got a sample of two shades and took them home to test out. They were generous sized samples so once I figured out the right shade I wore it for a few days. After the first day I was sold. It didn’t need to touch it up for a long time and it didn’t change color, move, or fade on me.
Get a sample of this and see if it works for you!
WOW is all I have to say about these new blushes from Estee Lauder. They are $28 each and HUGE at .24 oz!
Poppy Passion & Intriguing Plum
Poppy Passion & Intriguing Plum
I picked these two blushes because they looked so pigmented. There are so many additional colors available, I love how wide the range of colors is. These are available at Macy’s, the Estee Lauder website, and are making their way to Nordstrom (it’s on their website) and other department stores. I’ll use these and let you know how they are.
I’m going to check out the new Estee Lauder Invisible Fluid foundation today. I hope they have a color match for me. I must say Estee Lauder is really rolling out amazing things. I love it!
