I can’t wait to try this!
I love the holidays! It’s the best time to get deals on makeup sets. I heard from quite a few blog readers about holiday sets in the last week or so. Most of them asked which sets I think are the best deals at Sephora and Ulta. I thought I’d tell you about the must see deals at Sephora first. The sets are so good and tempting you could go bankrupt!
I really recommend carefully thinking about what you really need in your stash most. Because going to Sephora (or shopping online) without really thinking could be dangerous. Kind of like heading to a buffet on an empty stomach! Good idea in theory but a really bad idea after the first thirty minutes. Ha!
This isn’t everything available so check out the whole value sets section for deals. I put the item number for each set under the picture. If you want to look at a specific set on sephora.com you can just put the item number into the search box (in the top right corner) on the website and take a look at the details quickly.
I looooove sets. I hardly talk about it but it’s true. I see a set/kit of things I like in a box or with a cute bag and I snatch it up in the most unladylike way. It’s bad.
Here is a Smashbox set I picked up from Ulta recently for $29.
Besides the fantastic colors I like that the eye shadow trio and mascara are full size products! The Smashbox Limitless eye liner is in the shade Onyx, it’s a nice super deep black color. I reviewed the Smashbox Full Exposure Mascara a while ago (see that here) and I love it. It sells for $19 on it’s own!
The lip gloss (.14 oz.) is pretty. It’s called Radiant and it sparkles…a LOT!
The eye trio is called Digital. I swatched the Onyx eye liner on my hand below also.
Are you into sets/kits? This time of the year I go crazy over them! Would you like to see more posts on sets like this? Let me know because I will post about this kind of thing more if it’s useful!
Here’s another lipstick I’ve been wearing that I haven’t shown you from Smashbox!
When the Be Legendary collection of lipsticks came out a while ago I really wanted to try one. I love new lipstick releases! On a trip months ago I picked up Fuchsia Flash inside of a Sephora store for $19. Here is some information from the Sephora website on the Be Legendary line:
What it is:
A luxurious lipstick in matte and cream shades.
What it does:
Legendary beauties are unforgettable for their daring, iconic style. Get famously bold lips that stand out from the crowd with this beautiful lip color packed with vitamins C and E. It’s guaranteed to keep your lips feeling smooth and looking marvelous.
What else you need to know:
Cream shades contain shea butter and a unique moisture complex to provide instant and long-term moisture.
Size: 0.1 oz
I like Fuchsia Flash a lot. It’s a comfortable matte to wear for extended periods of time which is hard to find. My lips crave moisture and if that’s one of your issues you might want to put on a balm before wearing this. I find that using balm helps extend wear time by a few hours and makes this so much more comfortable to wear. It looks great after 5 hours easy provided I balm it up before application. Without balm my lips feel dry after about 4 hours. I need to touch up after meals and drinks but I love this matte.
Check out the 20 or so shades available at Sephora. There are cream and matte finish shades available and a wide enough range of colors to work for everyone!
I love this new palette from Smashbox. This kit has everything! Its got 56 eyeshadows which blows my mind. There are lip glosses(4), brow tech powders(4), brow wax, blush(2), highlighters(3), and cream eyeliners(8). So this is definitely all in one! It’s available on the QVC website (for $94) and they have an installment plan for us crazy beauty shoppers.
I’m going to apologize ahead of time for this picture heavy post. I’m just going to load you up with a million shots so you get the idea how cool this thing is. Everything is labeled so you know what color you’re using and the eyeshadows are grouped so finding a set of three colors that work well together is easy. A small guide with six looks that you can try comes with this palette as well.

I can’t recommend this palette enough, I just love it. Check this out if you’re in the market for an all in one set like this!
I caved big time on this one. I saw a YouTube video on this huge new palette from Smashbox and caved in a few seconds. It came in the mail and I’ll show you pictures of it this coming weekend. I must say I’m so happy with it. The color payoff is amazing (56 eyeshadows!) and it’s going on my vacation with me that’s for sure. Besides plenty of eyeshadows there is blush, highlighter, gloss, and eyebrow powder & wax in this little palette. I’m taking my foundation, this palette, and a few brushes on my trip.
This whole palette is just about the size of my favorite clutch purse. I’m amazed at how perfectly sized it is. Check it out on QVC. You can even pay for it in installments. It’s under $100 and handy as hell if you asked me.
Smashbox has great ideas. They have some new kits at Sephora and based on your complexion for $59 you can get a great set of things to really add some spice to your makeup collection.
The kits include quite a few things and in the Dark Skin Custom Color set pictured above you get:
- 0.053 oz Cream Liner Trio (forest green, golden tan, eggplant purple)
- 0.34 oz Fusion Soft Lights (bronze, dusty rose, deep coral)
- 0.075 oz Eye Shadow Trio (khaki shimmer, violet shimmer, shimmering navy blue)
- 0.14 oz Lip Enhancing Gloss in Ultra Violet (sheer violet plum)
- 0.19 oz Reflection High Shine Lip Gloss in Molasses (bronze)
- 0.04 oz Limitless Eye Liner in Onyx (black)
- 0.04 oz The Nude Lip Pencil in Dark (deep nude)
Not bad, the other two kits for Light and Medium skin have different shades but the same amount of stuff. You get a step by step guide as well. This is great if your just starting out or if you want to try some Smashbox but don’t want to commit to anything too pricey.
Check it out on Sephora online.
I’m in love with the Smashbox eye liners I got from The Makeup Show. I was on the hunt for new eye liners that won’t budge for summer, and these are it! There was a special at the show and I got four liners for $38. They retail for $19 each usually-wowza. I gave the brown one to my friend that came to the show with me but I kept the other three. These liners are waterproof and stay put all day. There is even a sharpner in the cap so they are great on the go as well.
Onyx is a beautiful black shade. It’s a true black no blue or green tint which I hate….and smooth as butter going on. I really hate it when liners tug at your eye. These are all smooth and easy to work with.
Black Violet is the purple of my dreams. I love the slight sparkle in this deep hue. It really goes beautifully with brown eyes. I think it really brings them out and makes them sparkle.
Indigo Ink is a nice navy blue, its very similar to black which I like. In the picture of all the shades swatched there is a slight difference in Onyx and Indigo Ink. I’ve been using this with all my taupe(ish) and gray eyeshadows and the end result is amazing. The navy blue is great and I’m so happy with it because in the past it’s been hard for me to find a blue liner that I like. I like the subtle difference between black and blue in general, it’s just a touch lighter on the eye but still gives a nice contrast and frame for eyeshadow.
There are a few more shades available on the Smashbox website. Check these out if your on the hunt for a new liner.
Disclosure: I purchased these products myself!
