Laura Mercier Face Illuminator

This highlighter is drop dead gorgeous….

Laura Mercier Face Illuminator (sunlight)

But I wasn’t sure if it was a good fit for my skin tone. Luckily one of you guys told me to pick this up ASAP and since you guys are in the know about a lot of the things I miss, I hunted this baby down. I am so glad that I did! I wasn’t able to get it at a discount from Sephora, they had some trouble keeping this in stock on-line whenever I checked. But Nordstrom had it and shipped it to me and boy is it dazzling to look at.

I think the line between frosty and glowing is my biggest hurdle when it comes to highlighters. I have tried a few brands that leave behind a “dirty frost” finish as compared to the highly desired “glowing” effect that I want. I guess the best way that I can get my point across is by saying some highlighters look gray on me instead of glowy. It reminds me of the difference between a bronzer that looks good on you and one that looks like some dirt got on your face!

This with a light touch leaves me looking glowing and chiseled when used in combination with my favorite bronzer. I just love it. A little product goes a long way so I really think this is going to be with me for years to come. Up until this point my favorite powder highlighter was last years YSL Palette Metallic Colorama. But this Illuminator is taking over its spot! I still love my Benefit Watt’s Up Highligher which I still recommend if you prefer a cream to powder formula, its reviewed here.

Overall this gets a huge thumbs up! It retails for $42, its out of stock on the Sephora website but hunt this down if you’re in the market. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

This highlighter looks gorgeous in the pan and in your swatch, Crystal! I wish I didn’t dilly-dally in ordering this from Sephora when it was still available back then.

I use the bronzer in the face contour kit from Sleek I posted about recently and I have just started using Guerlain’s Terracotta #08 Ebony and I’ll post about that soon.
