YSL Volupte Sheer Candy-Mouthwatering Berry #5

This has been great this week for my sore lips! It’s a sheer color wash of berry goodness from YSL. I got two shades of Yves Saint Laurent’s newest Sheer Candy last month and this color by far is my favorite. I love the berry/plum color and the moisture that comes along with the color is really good.

Since my lips got torn up from a bad reaction to a lip product early last week I haven’t been putting on much lipstick. I’ve been using lots of Jack Black Lip Balm (review to come soon) and really moisturizing stuff to try to get my poor lips back in shape. I thought I’d try using some of my sheer candy shades earlier this week and I was so happy with the results. My lips stay moisturized, I love the color, and as usual with YSL it’s a joy to reapply throughout the day.

But reapply you must…all day long. The color doesn’t survive drinks, meals, or a few hours. That’s the disappointment here. This is the deepest Sheer Candy shade they make and it disappears way quicker than I’d like. This is a fancy, glossy balm when it really comes down to it.

YSL Sheer Candy is $30 a tube. Check them out if you are interested in something lighter than lipstick and moisturizing. Especially if you don’t mind reapplying color several times a day. I actually liked Chanel’s Rouge Coco Shine formula a little better than this, my review is here if you haven’t had a chance to check it out yet.

I so wanted to try this, because I am a lipgloss junkey and this is kind a inbetween lip product. But I don’t wanna pay $30 for something I have to reapply so often
