NOTD: Orly Royal Navy + China Glaze Liquid Crystal

I love blue nail polish. Any kind of blue. It’s a sickness. I am drawn to it like purple eyeshadow and pink lipstick. It’s one of my favorite things. So today I decided to use Orly Royal Navy w/my new purchase from the latest China Glaze Collection Liquid Crystal. No jokes please…why name anything Crystal lol?

It’s hard to see the sparkle but Royal Navy has a pretty shimmer to it. What a color!

I did two coats of Royal Navy and two coats of Liquid Crystal on my ring finger. I topped all my nails off with Seche Vite top coat. I’ve been doing lots of coral, pink, and dark shades lately so this is a fun change up!

    I also love blue nail polish! Any shade. Powder blue, sky blue, royal blue, navy blue. I’m equal opportunity! I don’t have any Orly polishes. I’ve been thinking about picking up a few. What’s the wear time on them? I’m Hell on nail polish. I wash my hands a lot, dishes every day, change diapers, wash laundry. I chip in about 3 days usually. Could I get that long out of a couple coats? Right now I usually stick to Essie because it wears the best that I’ve found. But the colors are… Well… Not sparkly. And you know how I love me some sparkly!

      I can get 3-4 chip free days with Orly but I can also get that out of China Glaze and OPI too. I’m not that rough on polish though so I think I get longer wear times. The only thing that happens with me is wear on the tips after several days.

    I swear we were separated at birth because those are my color weakness also. I have a $5 credit burning a hole in my pocket for resigning with Sally…time for some more blue polish. I have not seen liquid crystal yet, but I will keep my eye out.

    Oh, so I was on the train this morning and saw this girls nails, I had to ask, she was wearing Sally Hansen Xtream Wear in Virtual Violet. It’s the small skinny bottle. I found it at Wallgreens for 3.49 then got $1.00 off! Sweet very pretty!

    So what do you think about the new points program at Ulta? I am sure we will be platinum in no time…just $350 in purchases for the year! 1 point for every $1.

    @Stacie – get your Orly at Sallys…here in Chicago it’s $5.49 at CVS $8.00.

      Thanks! I’ll check out Sally’s then. Every time I look at CVS, their color selection is meh. I like bright and flashy because they look great against my really fair skin. All my CVS ever has is pink. I almos never paint my nails pink unless it’s a bright fuschia.

      I KNOW that we are sisters from another mother!! I have to check out that Virtual Violet shade. I love the name! I got an email on that new Ulta program and I figure it will be good and we’ll both be platinum in no time. I remember filling out their survey months ago and saying that I wanted a simpler program and was more happy with triple points days and coupons than anything else. I don’t understand the CVS program or the Ulta one even though I shop in both places a lot so if they can make it simple then I’m happy. I appreciate getting the fliers now. That just started a few months ago. It’s funny for most of 2011 I did more Sephora shopping than anything else but now I’m all about Ulta. Thats just how its been for the last six months or so.

    This is so pretty! I love nail polish but it never holds up well on my fingers. But I might have to try this. I don’t even think I own a blue polish
