Estee Lauder Shimmering Sands Pure Color Illuminating Powder Gelee

It’s time for an intervention. Everyone keeps coming out with highlighters I must have. I wasn’t going to get this and then I swatched it at Neiman Marcus. It looked so fantastic that it had to come home with me. My resolve was gone and I practacally skipped all the way out of the store with it. I must caution you that while you are reading this women are buying this $42 highlighter and its limited edition so popping over to check your favorite department stores website ASAP isn’t a bad idea….

I think that this is a fantastic highlighter for summer when skin tones are deeper or deeper skin toned ladies in general. I’m so happy with Shimmering Sands because it just looks fantastic on the top of my cheeks and on my eyes. I like the little applicator in the compact but I do prefer using a fluffy brush to apply Shimmering Sands on my cheeks to make the color look as natural as possible. This shade looks fantastic all over the eyelid with some liquid black eyeliner and mascara. I can tell you I’m going to use it that way a lot in the next few months. It’s a nice bronzy glowy look.

If you want to see how this looks on a lighter skin tone please check out The Beauty Look Book’s post here. If you are on the fence I’d recommend checking this out in person at the Estee Lauder counter to see if its truly a good fit for you. Do it soon because I think this is going to sell out before long.

I picked mine up yesterday and I love it. The formulation is amazing and I just love the color. It’s a nice compliment to Topaz Chameleon.
