Maybelline Vivid Brazen Berry Lipstick, $7

I don’t think I need to tell you again at this point that I love the Maybelline Vivid line of lipsticks. I’ll just cut to the chase and tell you that I love Brazen Berry! It’s a beauty. Not everyone loves purple lipstick. I feel like unless you have a wild streak you may not get it. No one expects purple lips. That’s part of what makes them so much fun. It’s an interesting shade and I think a lot of people feel like they can’t pull it off. But the truth is-you should try.

It doesn’t have to be a straight up purple shade. You can cheat and go for a more wearable pinkish purple.

I get being a little wary of purple lips. I was myself. The color that opened me up or set me on the path for wearing it more regularly is Lancome’s Violette Coquette. That color is fierce and I wear it a lot. Then the month after using it Mac’s Heroine came out. It’s a matte purple shade (it’s coming back this April-watch out now!) that I really got into just like the Lancome purple. Another Maybelline Vivid Lipstick called Hot Plum that I posted about a few days ago is another great drugstore purple fix. Check it out for about $7 what a deal!

But if you’d like to cheat a little go for a pink/purple. My wallet busting favorite is Tom Ford’s Violet Fatale. That lipstick goes with me everywhere. It’s been in my purse since purchase. I wish I liked the formula better but Rouge d’Armani’s #600 is pretty also.
