Philosophy Purity Cleanser (I got the Super Size 32 oz.)

I’ve been using this cleanser for weeks and I’m ready to tell you about my thoughts on it. It’s good. It’s very, very good.

From qvc.com:

What is it: A super-sized edition of philosophy’s best-selling purity made simple cleanser. This deep-cleaning but gentle 4-in-1 emulsion removes every trace of makeup, dirt, oil, and debris in one step.

Who is it for: Anyone shopping for the cleanest and best skin of his or her life.

Why is it different: philosophy knows that when a cleanser is well formulated, there is no reason for the second step of toning. The deep-cleansing agent in this fragrance-free formula acts as a remover, cleanser, toner, and light hydrator, all in one easy step.

How do I use it: Apply to a dry or slightly damp face. Massage for 30 to 60 seconds. Rinse thoroughly.

Last month they had a special deal (Today’s Special Value) on QVC. Two huge 32 oz. Purity Cleanser bottles for $70 on easy pay. So I got it. It’s not available anymore but I bet they will bring it back since they sold so many sets that day.

I’ve used Purity before and I really didn’t like it. I think I didn’t understand it very much but now using it everyday I get why so many people love this stuff. It removes whatever is on my face very gently. The thing that scared me a bit before was how well this cleans my face. Sounds strange huh? Well let me explain. After using this my face feels stripped so clean of makeup that it looks funny. My face looks kind of off-color after I rinse and dry my skin off. I didn’t realize that Purity cleanses and tones the skin so that makes sense.

Don’t get me wrong my skin feels soft and hydrated after using it. I always follow up with a moisturizer but my face still feels nice not tight or stiff after using Purity. That’s so important. I have combination skin but I have a feeling after talking to other Purity lovers that this is a great fit for normal, dry, and some oily skins. Sensitive skin girls should give this a go as well with caution. Always be very careful with something new like this that you are going to put all over your face.

Purity is available at a variety of places. Check Nordstrom and Ulta for example. Those are other places that I see the product regularly in all kinds of smaller sizes. QVC has excellent deals on it and a variety of neat packages worth looking at. Don’t feel like you need to get the huge size to test it out and see if it works for you. I’ve been using it twice a day and I’m sold. I also like using it after Cleansing Oil but make no mistake you can clean all your makeup off with just this at night. I just smooth Purity on and work it into my skin gently and the makeup comes right off.

I’m not a fan of the Purity wipes but the cleanser I really like. I tried the wipes and they were dry…yuck!

I have enough cleanser (you need less than a pump from the 32. oz bottles to cleanse) for a year so I figured that I’d either love this purchase and pat myself on the back. Or do the sad unhappy walk back into the post office with my huge box of Purity ready to head back to QVC.

Please let me know if you’ve tried Purity. I’m sure others would love to hear your thoughts!

Woot! I picked up CVS version of Cetaphil that I’m using now which is different. I don’t hate it but I’m not in love with it. With CVS bucks I pretty much got it for free. So I’ll use it. Purity is on my list to use again. I loved it when I used it. Going to do a battle of the cleansers with this and Purity and decide what is going to be THEEEE cleanser for me.

Hey Crystal…I have been using it for 2 and half years. I love it. I also get the 32 oz on QVC. One bottle lasts a long time. I have also been using the microdelivery exfoliating wash. I love it but I dont but that in the 32 oz bottle. After awile the beads kind of disappear. I tend to buy the 8 or 16oz. Love your videos…keep them coming.

I’m so glad you commented. I should have gotten into Purity a while ago! I have been using the Microdelivery Exfoliating Wash for a few days and really like it! I have been using whats left on my hands-they are so soft now!

I tried this once, I had a freebie full size. unfortunately, i felt like it was too stripping without actually cleaning my face. I don’t even know if that makes sense, LOL. But my face felt so dry and i would still have foundation on my face afterwards. maybe I was using it incorrectly?

I’m not sure if its something you should try again if your face felt dry after using it. One difference for me at least this time using it is I use it with water. I noticed in the QVC presentations that almost all the models add a little water to the cleanser before smoothing it into their skin. It soaps up more I notice and I also use less this time around. I was using too much before.

I had the same problem. My combination-oily skin was unbelievably dry whenever I used Purity and, like you, it did not remove most/all of my makeup. I gave it to my sister who loves it and I’ve had much success with the oil cleansing method.

I only use purity to clean my makeup off. Even my mom uses it exclusively! It doesn’t burn my eyes AT ALL! ( You know I tried it out) I can’t use anything else.
