Smashbox Liquid Halo HD Foundation-I Love It!

Smashbox Liquid Halo HD Foundation, $42 at Ulta

I love this foundation. I reviewed it in The Chopping Block #6 series on YouTube. I had so many requests to review it but I wasn’t super excited. Something that is billed as glowy usually isn’t a fit for me. I have combination skin so I avoid the t-zone glow at all costs but this glow is GOOD. During Fall/Winter season that is!

This foundation is light and blends so beautifully into the skin that you have to try it. It’s your skin but 10 times better! I think besides glowing I look healthier with this on. I was sick last week and I put this on and I didn’t look so sick. I kind of looked wayyy healthier than I felt. Do you look at models in magazine ads and feel some sort of envy at the healthy flush in their skin and want that (I know I’m looking at air brushing also) look yourself? This is IT in a bottle.

There are ten shades and I wear #9.

I’m so glad this has a pump. I have found that using my beauty blender works well with this but my favorite way to apply it is with my fingers. I use less product and it just melts on into the skin. You really don’t need much product at all. I’d say this was a medium coverage but if you prefer a fuller coverage foundation this may not be for you. It’s buildable but I really don’t think if you prefer full coverage this is going to make you happy. If you don’t like foundation and don’t need much coverage I think this is going to be a home run for you. Or if you just apply foundation in areas that you need it. Halo is perfect for that! You won’t be able to see where the foundation ends and your skin begins. Your whole face is just going to look perfect after you blend this in where you need it.

I sampled this and found my shade match at Ulta. I seriously recommend trying this baby out! Get it home and test drive it.

From Smashbox.com:

Bring on the flawless! The first-ever foundation with 100% Liquid Light Technology completely evens out skin for a totally natural, luminous finish. (Think gel-covered pigments that mimic photo filters to blur imperfections.)

Created in our studios, this HD formula was developed to keep up with advancing photo technology by giving you flawless coverage that’s undetectable to the naked eye.

•    Works with all undertones
•    Buildable sheer-to-medium coverage
•    Long-wearing
•    Moisturizing
•    Sweat and humidity resistant

Starting at center of face, apply Liquid Halo HD Foundation and build to desired coverage.

This foundation works well with all of the face primers that I use. I always use primer to get that extra few hours of wear. Because I have combo skin this foundation is going to be something I use in the Fall/Winter. When I first tested it out it was during the Summer and I loved it but not as much as now. Because its cooler I only touch up my t-zone once a day. My normal skin areas (cheeks/chin) love this foundation. If you are lucky enough to be blessed with normal skin please check this out! This is holy grail status in my book and I’m so glad that I tried it. I wear Halo a lot in YouTube videos. Its the foundation that I get the most compliments on by far. I look all glowy even if I feel like crap:)

Let me know if you’ve tried this. I’d love to hear your thoughts or if you haven’t purchased yet let me know if you have any questions!

It’s on the wish list. I think I swatched shades 9 & 10 on my hand but need to do it on the face. I think when I stopped in Sephora I already had BE on my face. Maybe when I get some Christmas cash/gift cards I’ll give a whirl.

I love your makeup looks anyway but especially love your makeup when you’re wearing the Halo foundation. I went to sephora to get a sample but the SA said it was sheer coverage and right now (thanks to hormonal breakouts on my chin/jaw) I need something with more coverage. Thanks for the review!
