Flower by Drew Barrymore (exclusive to Walmart)
I love a new makeup line. And I know some have conflicting feelings regarding Walmart but when it comes to a deal thats where I end up anyway I’m not gonna lie. I stay away from the big W after 4pm on week days and don’t darken their sliding doors on Saturdays or Sundays whenever possible. When do I go? At 7 or 8 am usually during the week. My Walmart opens EARLY.
Back to the new makeup. I was excited about this latest line but pleasantly surprised by the Drew Barrymore factor. I like many others don’t think of her when it comes to makeup. But that’s a good thing. I always think of Drew as anything but typical. I love it when people show a different side and even more when someone that has grown up in front of all of us surprises us and breaks out with something new. I can’t even tell you how excited I was when Cover Girl hooked up with Pink. I love her!
Because the products are at Walmart the price point is fantastic with most items ringing up for under $10. I picked up a few things in my travels (my local Walmart doesn’t have the products yet) so I’ll show them in a YouTube haul soon. Most things I picked up for the eyes and lips where $7 each. If you don’t have the products at your local Walmart they are available on the Walmart website (free shipping w/$50 purchase) so check them out there if your itching to order. If you’d like to see what I think are better pictures of the colors check out www.flowerbeauty.com. It directly links you to the Walmart site if you want to place an order.
But I wanted to know from you will you consider purchasing anything or is this whole thing not even on your radar? I heard back from a bunch of people that have made purchases on an Instagram pic I posted. Some love it and others not so much.
What do ya say-yay or nay?

I would definitely like to try it. I saw Emily Noel’s reviews of it, and I am thinking of purchasing a few items.

I was interested in a few things from the line. The reviews I’ve seen have been mixed. I have yet to see darker ladies review it – i’ve just seen a olive toned lady and paler ladies review it. The shadows apparently aren’t worth it. But G. from nouveau cheap seems to like the products she reviewed.

It’s a Yay for me. Now i have to wait for Puerto Rico to bring it… It’s going to be a looooong time….

I don’t have a Walmart near me, but the “pocket triplet” thing (lips & eye versions) looks interesting. I wonder if they actually work or if it’s a packaging nightmare ??

I also saw Emily Noel’s review and was even planning on trying it before I saw the review.

Probably not. I like that it’s supposed to suit sensitive skin and I like the natural and non-animal-tested factors. But for a product that is trying to appear as natural, clean, and eco-friendly as possible, it boggles my mind that this is Walmart exclusive. If I could buy it directly from the flowerbeauty site I would try it. But where I live, most people don’t consider Walmart a great place, even if the prices are good. My whole town fought tooth and nail to prevent a Walmart from being built here, so to say I wouldn’t grace them with my business is kind of an understatement.

I haven’t tried anything from the line yet. But looking at the picture of the foundations and just from seeing further down the right of the line of colors. I am very pleased to see a fair amount of ‘brown girl friendly” shades. That right there speaks volumes. Still so many lines nowadays stop short…and hit the wall when it comes to having something for us. So i applaud Ms Drew’s crew for that.

I tried a nail polish and I love it! I am interested in trying other products! I found Emily’s video helpful!

I have tried the cream eyeshadows, cream blush, lip butter & lipsticks. I am a huge fan of everything except the matte lipsticks (white lipstick packaging) so far. I have pictures & swatches on my blog at nikkibstylesolutions.blogspot
Like many others I do wish it was not exclusively sold at Walmart.

I tried out the cream eyeshadow and the blush and bronzer duo. The cream eyeshadows have a very mousy texture and aren’t solid at all, but surprisingly I wore them today and they didn’t crease at all not even when I wore them through my aerobic workout. The blush was really pigmented and showed up well on my dark skin.
