Tarte Smooth Operator Finishing Powder

To be honest I hate powder usually. In fact I avoid it at all costs. I know people set their makeup with powder and swear by it but I skip that step. I always felt that it made me look kind of crazy ashy unless it is a perfect match for my skin. I have used a few of the all skin tones white powders and some were ok but nothing I really made a habit out of.

Several celebs had issues with white powders and I can admit that made me even less likely to get a new one. Although I did get a laugh out of so many people that look perfect all the time looking a little crazy. These are my favorites…

I love Tarte’s Smooth Operator. I had a really nice sales associate at Sephora rave about it and she set a foundation that I wanted to try with it and it looked good all day. I decided to buy it because it looked really good when she put it on. I kept mirror checking it throughout the day trying to see when things were going to get ugly and to my surprise it never did! I’m a regular person so I don’t have to worry about pictures on a day to day basis.

This has Amazonian Clay in it like many Tarte products. I really love how it makes me matte not ashy after I dust it all over my face lightly with a fluffy blush. It stays that way for quite a while too. Smooth Operator  does what Tarte says. The oily parts of my skin (t-zone) stay matte and the drier parts (cheeks) look nice and normal. Not many products achieve that for me. I love it when they do though.

At $28 it’s pricey but to me it’s worth it!

This will be in my sephora haul wish list. I have really oily skin and acne scars, I use powder and concealer but it’s not enough coverage. do u recommend any liquid foundations I can use with this product?

I think celebs got white under eyes in pics because they used HD powder. HD powder is made for HD camera not for flash pics.If you used it you should take pics without flash then it will be perfect.
