Every few months I feel the need to check in with you when it comes to mascara. I like to know what your favorites are and if there are any that you recently tried that were awful. I can tell you in the last few months I’ve found more hits than misses which is good.
For me it’s all about volume. But this year I’ve found some mascaras that are really good at adding length also. I didn’t think that was possible. I have usually only been able to get volume or length….not both. I am loving this turnaround. I’ve really been trying a lot of brands but the drugstore is in the lead because they have really been hitting the market hard with some great new mascaras!
I’m a little obsessed with Dior Overcurl which is a bad thing. I think Dior is my favorite high end mascara brand. They don’t miss a trick. I mean the mascaras they make are just about perfect. I don’t know how they do it. I have tried tube after tube expecting to hit a dud formula but it never happens. They get me so fired up I wear their mascara tubes out until they are dried out and MUST be thrown away. I wait far too long to throw them away. Ever had an eye infection? Please remember to dispose of your mascaras when you should because its not fun! I’ve only had it happen once and its enough to give me nightmares.
I usually hate mascaras with a curved wand on sight. But of course Dior made it work for the big fat doubter/hater I am.
This week I’m testing out Chanel’s Volume Mascara. It’s in a beautiful tube that before I used it I used to pet like a hamster when I walked by it in my makeup room. Crazy right? Before I started using it I couldn’t tell if it was going to work for me from the wand. Thats how I usually pre-judge a mascara. It’s not a full proof system though. I really have got to test the stuff out for several days to really see whats up with it.

My all time favorite is Jordana Lash Extreme. I really don’t even try other mascaras at this point. It does all I could ask for and people ask if I use lash growth serum when I wear it! No other mascara does that for me.
My sentimental favorite mascara (which is now discontinued) is L’Oreal Lash Out. It was my first mascara ever and I have an unopened tube I will always keep because I am crazy about makeup like that!
I love Jordana Lash Extreme! I just got into it and it’s like the best inexpensive mascara to date for me. As long as I don’t re-dip back in the tube for each eye I’m all good. What a formula!
I was just thinking about this and all the mascaras I have in my drawer. I would have to say mine is Lancome Definicils Precious Cells. I had originally ordered it from HSN when it was on free shipping. I love the wand, formula, how it lengthens, gives me volume, my lashes feel like my lashes, and it’s easy to remove. I need to get another tube. A close second in Bare Minerals Lengthen and Curl mascara. Next time they do a deal at Ulta, I’ll just get that one.
I love that half price BE mascara deal at Ulta. I always get at least four tubes lol!
My fav is Covergirl lashblastvolume mascara (waterproof) for over 8 years.

My HG is essence i love crazy volume mascara!
I like that one also. I heard back from a bunch of people when I reviewed it that said it ends up under their eyes but not for me-love it!
My HG is that tubing mascara by L’Oreal, it’s the one with a conditioning primer at one end and the tubing mascara at the other. It never ever smudges under my eyes which makes it holy grail plus it’s easy to wash off. I used to love the Jordana one but it was harder to wash off.
Ahhh that’s one of the few tubing ones I like! Good stuff!
My favorite mascara is Big Fatty by Urban Decay. I also love the L’Oreal Double Extend Beauty Tubes and CoverGirl Lashblast Fusion! I just got about 4-5 new mascaras from Ulta’s 21 Days of Beauty and Ipsy so it’ll be interesting to see how they compare.
It’s so much fun to try a few different ones!
My all time favorite is Mally’s mascara but its soooo expensive and hard to find unless you order it. But since i cant always get my hands on my Mally and dont like spending that much on a mascara, I LOVE THE JORDANA LASH EXTREME!!! i tell everyone about this mascara. They never believe me that a $3 mascara is the BOMB.com!!
I love Mally’s mascara, it’s so funny I’ve had the same kind of reaction-people say but it’s so cheap!!
Loreal Voluminous! I hope I spelled that right LOL and a new love is Smashbox Full Exposure! I think you would really like that one!!

My holy grail right now is clinique’s lash building mascara with clinique’s lash building primer as a base. Makes my lashes full and clump free. I also like the essence I love extreme crazy volume mascara but have to be carefull when using it as it tends to clump on me
I haven’t tried a Clinique mascara in a while and they have a primer of boy!
Ever since clump crusher came out it has been my holy grail!! I also love tarts lights camera lashes and the falsies. I love to pair clump crusher with more lenghtining mascaras!
I love the Clump Crusher! I’m thinking that might be my favorite over L’oreal Voluminous Carbon Black which has been my drugstore number 1 holy grail for years. I love Tartes mascara also!
Benefit’s They’re Real is the best mascara for me. I liked Chanel’s Le Volume but found that when i went to remove it little flakes of it got into my eyes and I have to flush them out afterwards which is one more step in my evening routine and leaves my eyes red and irritated. I also liked Georgio Armani’s Eyes to Kill and DiorShow.

I have two holy grails! Chanel Le Volume Mascara and my all time favorite is Fresh Supernova Mascara!!
Bare Minerals Lash Domination is my favorite this year. I got a sample in an order from Sephora and now I’m mad because I have to spend $18 to buy a full-size tube. Maybelline’s Colossal Cat Eyes is a close second for me.
My HG mascara combination is covergirl clump crusher as a base and benefits they’re real on top. But If I had to choose one out of the two, I would go with the clump crusher.
Love both of those mascaras! But gun to my head I’d pick the Clump Crusher also if I had to pick an HG winner!
L’oreal Volumissime really got to my heart. I looove how perfect my lashes look. Full and long. Love it, and this mascara is soooo inexpensive. A must to me.
I lovelovelove Lancome Hypnose Star (that curved brush first made me really like OMGWTF, but then I realised it really worked for me!), but not so long ago a got a mini version of Chanel’sVolume and now I am starting to think – how about me getting some of them, too. It doesn’t give me that super volume actually but somehow it makes my eyes like POP – they seem so big and wide opened. And I love the package these mascaras have

I can’t say you have to try right away, because not everyone likes Star, but it may become a lucky grail of sort:)

I have naturally long & full lashes (which God balanced out by giving me horrible, oily, acne-prone skin, lol) – so pretty much any mascara works on me – but I really love combining L’Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black & CoverGirl LashBlast Volume for date nights. I’ve also enjoyed Benefit’s They’re Real mascara whenever I want a falsies look since I hate trying to wear actual falsies.
Tarte’s Lights Camera Lashes or Gifted mascaras are HG but if there isnt a deal
on those I go for Covergiel Lashblast volume or Essence I heart crazy extreme volume.
The Tarte looks awesome with Benefit theyre real on top. Not sure which mascara to try next lol.
I still have a tube of Gifted to try out one of these days. I’ve heard good things about it. I love Lights Camera Lashes and Covergirl Lashbast Volume has been a favorite for a while! I always have my eye on a new one and I”m not alone I see lol!
My HG is definitely my Benefit They’re Real mascara. I have others that I like but this holds a curl thickens and lengthens. I already have a lot of lashes they’re just fine. So a lot of volumizing mascaras make my lashes droop and a lot of lengthening ones lengthen but the brushes don’t catch onto the finer lashes.
