Do you ever just walk down the aisle at the drugstore and get a little overwhelmed with all the claims and promises some cosmetics products have on them? I do. One of my favorite things to watch is a local news segment where I live that asks “Does It Really Do That?” Basically they test out products (household, infomercial etc) and see if all the claims that they make are true. So I thought one of you could test out three products that have very interesting claims.
And for fun I threw in a Milani 3-D nail polish:)
Product 1- Physicians Formula Eye Booster
The claim: After two weeks 75% of women tested saw longer fuller lashes. After four weeks 91% saw longer fuller lashes!
Product 2- Rimmel Lash Accelerator
The claim: After 30 days lashes appear up to 117% longer.
Product 3- Sally Hansen VitaSurge Growth Gel.
The claim: Grow Longer Nails in 5 days. The results for this should happen fast at least!

I used Careprost, which is an eyelash growing product. It grew my bottom lashes longer in 4 weeks.
Well im not sure if this counts but I used a nail polish that said it was long lasting and it really was haha

Color Sensational High Shine lip stick by Maybelline some people say it looks like you put lipgloss on top of your lipstick but nop it works really good
i would say the Revlon Grow Luscious lived up to way more than what i expected. It made my lashes VERY thick and since i have asian lashes, thats a major improvement
I have yet to try a product that lives up to what it claims it does.

OPI Nail Envy… the original one.. Everyone needs to try that. It’s expensive but you can save up like me and get it if you nails are really in a mess.
Mr bubbles shower foaming spray. It says ur just suppose to spray it and just washs away but u always have to still end up scrubbing it to get it really clean
The Tea Tree skin care line from The Body Shop…great!!!!!!!! It controlled my adult acne…it’s been about 2 and half months but I see such a big difference…now just to find a product to get rid of my dark spots.
I’ve tried some Garnier hair products that claimed to help my hair (after bleaching, I thought it was dead) and they were pretty good, my hair was better after a while, but not completely fine… Usually, most products don’t really do what they claim to… unfortunately…
Sally Hansen’s Hard as Nails worked wonders for my nails when I wasnt biting them. They were solid as a rock for the entire length of time that I used it.
Poshe Cuticle care really exfoliates and hydrates problem cuticles in just a few days
I have tried the Burt’s Bees Cuticle Cream and it works great. It leaves my cuticles smooth and beautiful.
There aren’t that many but some gems do exist.
My 2 biggest surprises were:
!/ Urban Decay Lush Lash System: WOW! In just a few weeks (3~4) i totally saw a difference. Much longer and fuller lashes. Can’t live without it.
2/ I know that one didn’t work for you but i can’t live without my Lancome Hypnose Precious Cells. Used to use it before the Urban Decay LLS and it really strengthened my lashes and i had less fallouts.
…..And yes, i’m a bit obsessed with lashes :p
3/ Kiehl’s Powerful Strength Line Reducing Concentrate or Double Strength Deep Wrinkle Filler: don’t know which one of the 2 worked best (started using them at the same time) but in a couple of weeks my marionettes wrinkles COMPLETELY disappeared! No lie! I was blown away. Well, they weren’t that deep to begin with but now they are totally gone.
PS: sometimes i really wish i took before and after pictures just to be sure the difference is not just in my head lol
I tried the Ambi Even & Clear daily moisturizer. It claims to visibly even skintone and texture in 2 weeks. It did help clear my post acne marks slightly but nothing dramatic.
I really haven’t tried any products that COMPLETELY lived up to their claim. Not saying the product wasn’t good or didn’t work, but the claim wasn’t true!
Gotta love those infomercials! I was disappointed in the Shamwow LOL. Anywa, woud love to est these claims out
One product that I totally repurchase because it truly work is–Joico’s Hair Reconstructor. It’s worth the money!!!
I love Sally Hansen’s Insta-Dri Anti-Chip Top Coat. It really dries my nail polish to the touch in 30 seconds!

I used a product to strengthen my eyelashes before, it’s called double-lash by Mavala, and it did work very quickly, I could see the difference in a couple of days, but the day I stopped using the product; my eyelashes went back to normal

well i actually saw a commercial about Maybelline Tinted Lip Balms and was impressed with the TV ad so I decided to try it and what can i say? Im in love with it, its a must have for me. I dont have that much lippies in me coz when I like something, i kind of stick to that till i find another that i like :p

I have used many products that I really like but I don´t think any of them lived up to their claim even though they are good products
Clean and clear acne products really work for me .. and not sure if this counts but the birth control pill also works well for my acne which is something they say they do
i sure do! the ORS EDGE CONTROL GEL/POMADE IS MY HOLY GRAIL AND IT DOES MORE THEN IT SAYS FOR MY NATURAL HAIR. IT LEAVES MY EDGES SLICK AND SMOOTHED DOWN ALL DAY LONG AND THE NEXT DAY..I LOVE IT!
i haven’t tried any of the products, but i’m always on the look out for mascara’s that will work on my lashes

I didn’t had the opportunity to try any miracle products that lived up to the expectations, but maybe when I will afford pricier products.
lancome white expert spot eraser is a product i swear by it does exactly what it claims – whenever i have sunspot or acne scar it’s the product i turn to
I have this product for cleaning sinks and stuff like that. Its supposed to change colors when its clean or whatever and it does not work. Ha ha
Really happy with Wet N Wild’s Fast Dry — thought I had to settle for polishes that took forever to dry because of my low cost budget. Suprisingly, Wet N Wild’s new formula allows me to purchase a quick drying polish at an affordable price of $1 – $1.50/bottle. It really does dry quickly — about 1-2 minutes.
I don’t know if this counts but may nail varnishes say that they are long lasting but they chip easily, like 2-3 days.

The L’Oreal Double Extend Mascara with Lash Boosting serum claims to grow your lashes with the serum at night while the mascara extends your lashes by double in the day (or when you use it). I tried it out for the 4 week challenge and it seemed to work. I noticed a difference, but then again, my lashes aren’t all that short anyway!
